Otitis is more common in adults than in children

This is one of the most common conditions in children as 2/3 of them will have otitis before their 3 years old. In children, the Eustachian tube that connects the airways to the ears is shorter and drains less well than in adults. As a result, microbes, viruses and bacteria migrate more easily to the ear and remain blocked instead of evacuated.
