1. Calcium occupies a prominent place in the human body
- Calcium is by far the most abundant mineral salt of the human body. The body of an adult has more than one kilogram of which 99% in the bones! Capital in the formation and growth of the skeleton and teeth, it also intervenes in fundamental functions such as muscle contraction, blood coagulation ...
- Calcium needs vary by age: 500 mg for a child, 1200 mg for a teenager, 1000 mg for an adult.
2. The child's calcium level conditions his future health
- The building and consolidation of the skeleton takes place during childhood and adolescence. Inadequate calcium intake would prevent the development of optimal bone capital. The danger later? The risks of osteoporosis as early as 30 years, a decrease and weakening of bone mass, an increase in fractures.
3. Calcium is a priority in milk and dairy products
- Milky foods hold the record of calcium content! The first years of life, the milk bottle is an excellent calcium insurance. Then, with diversification, the share of milk decreasing, dairy products (yogurts, cheeses, small Swiss ...) can meet the needs.
- From 2 years, the medical recommendation fixes the consumption to three per day. Other foods such as almonds, some very mineralized water, endive ... also contain, but in much less than dairy products.
